The foundation:
CCARA e.V. was founded on 11 March 2005. The Tsunami desaster 2004 in South East Asia was the time of breakthrough. That time, the German couple Heike and Roman Maurus with their two children was on a holiday trip at the southern tip of India by the sea when the killer waves hit the Indian coast. By God’s grace the Maurus family was safe at a city hotel only a few kilometers away from the coast because their fancied hotel was fully booked for Christmas and they could not get the rooms they wanted first and so they escaped the disaster. Out of thankfulness and feeling called to help needy children, Roman and Heike Maurus founded the CCARA organization soon after together with close friends.

CCARA e.V. consists of a very small circle of members who know each other well. Membership is meant to be as a part of a circle of friends who support the work of the board. Together all members intend to be active in any way to maintain and improve the CCARA projects for the benefit of the needy children and families in a certain country.
General information:
CCARA e.V. is a registered social, non-governmental and non-profitable organization. Registration number of the register of associations at the district court in Kemprten (Allgäu): VR 30770. For German residents only: regarding its bye-laws of charity work CCARA e.V. is exempt of corporate income tax and therefore authorized to issue certificates of tax exemptions for donations to be submitted to finance authority. The acknowledgement of the non-profit status has been granted for 5 years by assessment of the financial authority of Kempten on 07. July 2021. Tax ID: 127/107/40273.
